Drive across the beautiful country and watch the landscape transform as you head to Dar es Salaam, a vibrant town on the East Coast.

Proceed to depart to Zanzibar for three days, indulging in all the pleasures that this piece of paradise has to offer.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Arusha | 1 Night

Welcome to Kenya, on arrival at Jomo Kenyattas International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transfer to Arusha, located on the lower slopes of Mount Meru, through Namanga. Arusha is Tanzania safari capital, and the gateway to the famous Tanzania northern circuit Arusha is the starting point for our safari to the Ngorongoro Crater, and later to Serengeti, our safari will be in 4×4 vehicles fully equipped and adapted for the rough safari terrain, with knowledgeable and experienced safari guides.

Days 2 - 4: Descend the Ngorongoro Crater | 3 Nights

Breakfast and se set out through the lush green farm lands as we head to Mto Wa Mbu, we continue further south, heading up the Rift Valley to the small village of Karatu, with wonderful views of the surrounding farms and highlands. We shall spend the night here on our campsite. Breakfast and we have an early start and head for the Ngoronngoro Conservation Area as we descend the 600m to the Ngorongoro crater floor for a game drive, exploring the swamps, woodlands, forest and grasslands in search of the Big 5 in this wildlife rich park.

The Ngorongoro is a world heritage site. Later after a picnic lunch we shall head further south and turn westwards as the open plains of the Serengeti merge with the highlands of the Ngorongoro, we shall make a stop at the cradle of Mankind, Olduvai Gorge, continue with a game drive en-route through the southern and central areas of the Serengeti, amidst the abundant herds of plain game. During the months May to October, you will get to see the Great Wildebeest Migration, as almost a million wildebeest herds trek through the plains in search of the fresh green grasses after the rainy season.

Your guide will pick a scenic place to set up your camp, right in the heart of the Serengeti Plains Breakfast in the morning and we depart with a game drive as we head back to towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, then back to Arusha to rejoin the group and share stories of your adventures.

Day 5: Travel Across the Country | 1 Night

Breakfast and we take the road towards the coast, passing through the Southern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro, and the town of Moshi – if we are lucky and the weather is clear we may get a view of the snowcapped summit of the mountain.

Further south we shall go through the Usambara and Pare mountain ranges with the most stunning views of the planation and surrounding lush green, before arriving at a campsite, midway between Arusha and Dar Es Salaam.

Day 6: Arrive at the Coast | 1 Night

Today we take the road further south, as the lush green highlands open to dense palms, a clear sign we are entering the coastal region. We arrive on the outskirts of Dar Es Salaam, a bustling and vibrant coastal town, we continue strait to a seaside campsite on the northern side of the city as we plan to cross over to Zanzibar the next day.

Days 7 - 9: Enjoy Life in Zanzibar | 3 Nights

Board the morning ferry to Zanzibar the famous spice island and spend the next 3 days relaxing and taking in the rich culture of the island. Spend the next day’s relaxing on the sandy beaches, and swimming the warm waters if the Indian ocean, you can also take optional activities such as scuba diving, snorkeling or an excursion on a glass bottomed boat.

Walk the narrow streets of the old town, with medina like shop store fronts, visit the plantations and learn more about the islands spice history, take a trip to the Prison Island to see the giant tortoise, or board a traditional boat and head out on a fishing expedition. In the evening’s seat down to delicious meals as you listen to the hull of the waves, or join the locals for seafood galore at the Forodhani Gardens seafront market.

Day 10: End Your Journey in Dar Es Salaam

After breakfast, take in the sights of the sea as you depart for Dar Es Salaam. Here your tour will come to an end.
