10 Day Budget Migration and Beach Holiday Safari

Opening with views of Mount Kilimanjaro and ending on the powdery sandy beaches of Zanzibar, this 10-day tour has been designed to deliver experience and value. Your safari begins at Arusha in Tanzania, the long-serving logistics hub for the region and a night at a tranquil riverside lodge. Then, you sit back in the care of a professional driver/guide and let the Rift Valley landscape open up.

There are no more than five passengers in the sturdy 4X4 vehicle, thus guaranteeing everyone a window seat. And there is plenty to see on the way as you drive to the Ngorongoro Crater – a renowned Big 5 haven – and explore the surrounding conservation area where red-robed Maasai herdsmen watch their cattle against a background of wildlife. A short charter flight then whisks you to the Serengeti where you can look forward to exceptional game viewing. Your camp is a mobile one, moving across the savannah with the migrating wildebeest and zebra herds, enabling it to set up where the action is, whether it is the birthing season, the crocodile-filled river crossings or the high-tempo rutting season.

After a week of wildlife, it is time to fly to Zanzibar and check in at Matemwe Lodge on the island’s highly prized north-east coast. Here you can be as active or as relaxed as you like; the resort specialises in both energetic and tranquil activities – from scuba diving and snorkeling to pampering massages and beauty treatments. It is the perfect ending to a safari, and makes this a great choice for couples and honeymooners.
