Itinerary

Day 1: A Riverside Retreat | 2 Nights

Welcome to Tanzania on arrival at the Kilimanjaro International Airport you shall be met by your guide and later make the one hour transfer to Rivertrees Country Inn, set on the foothills of Mount Meru and with distant views of the tallest peak in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, settle in after a long flight and relax to enjoy your stay before beginning your Africa safari.

If you would like to stretch your legs, take the interesting trails that run along the banks if the Usa River just within the hotels vicinity to catch the fresh air, learn about the local flora or look at the rich birdlife and catch a glimpse of an animal or two, you can take a plunge in the hotels swimming pool or idle on the sun lounge and enjoy the complimentary email as you catch with loved one on email.

Day 2: Arusha National Park

Wake up early to sounds of then singing birds, breakfast and after breakfast depart for a day of discovery within the Arusha National Park, despite its small size and proximity to the city, Arusha is teeming with wildlife, enjoy the wonderful scenery as you explore the wetlands for the park for hippos, the forest pockets for excited monkeys while out into the open grasslands, look out for antelopes, buffaloes and elephants – and if lucky catch the leopard as it idles the day in a hideout or out on the prowl for a quick meal.

Enjoy walking safaris and canoe trips during your stay, later in the evenings retire to the comfort of the Rivertrees Country Inn and enjoy gourmet dinners and restful nights.

Days 3 - 4: Lake Manyara | 2 Nights

Breakfast and take the road south towards Lake Manyara National Park, we shall arrive in time for an afternoon game drive, to explore the banks and flood plains of the park for large mammals and birds, after our game we shall head out to the charming Manyara Green Camp, set up on an edge of the park just below a waterfall. Settle in to your large tent complete with a double bed, and private en suite bathroom

The next after breakfast take a walk on the lakeshores, set out on a game drive and as you return night engulfs the African wilderness, switch your spot lights on for a night game viewing experience, look out for nocturnal creature on the scavenging in the dark. Return to the camp for an intimate delicious dinner before retiring for the day.

Day 5: A Big 5 Safari | 1 Night

Breakfast and with a game drive en route we depart Manyara for the Ngorongoro Crater, we shall make a stop to take a walk on a canopy tree walk, as we head towards the small town of Mto wa Mbu. Mto wa Mbu is a famous base for walking and biking safari and the best start point to explore the Ngorongoro Crater, arrive at your accommodation at the elegant Sanctuary Ngorongoro Crater Camp, set on the road down the rim, just close to the crater, ensuring you are among the first in the morning to begin the crater visit.

Days 6 - 8: The Serengeti Savannah | 3 Nights

Breakfast and be among the first to begin the crater visit before anyone else, explore the crater floor for the big 5 – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino and leopard- the only place in Africa where you may get the experience to see all of them in a single game drive.

Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater wilderness, after lunch set off for the plains of the Serengeti to Banagi Green Camp where for the next three days you shall explore the vast wilderness of the Serengeti. The Grumeti area where the camp is located is a stunning location and offers premium all year round game viewing experience. The region is most intense mid-year as the migration runs through the area headed for the Maasai Mara.

Spend the next two days with morning and afternoon game drives and later retire to your comfortable camp for delicious 3 course meals, served under the African sky before retiring to your spacious solar powered tent (to have minimal impact on environment) for the night.

Day 9: Farewell Tanzania

Breakfast at the camp, after breakfast transfer to Seronera Airstrip, to take the hour flight via Manyara back to Arusha Airport on arrival transfer to your hotel or connect to your departure flight for onward safari arrangements.
