Itinerary

Welcome to Tanzania, on arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met by your safari guide and transfer to On-Sea House located on the outskirts of Arusha Town, check into your quiet and comfortable room ready to begin your African adventure. Relax in the lush gardens of the hotels to breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe and Mount Meru. Enjoy the gourmet meals prepared by reknowned chef Axel Janssens, who studied at one of the most prestigious culinary schools in Europe and perfected his art at various Michelin-star restaurants.
Breakfast and take your flight to the Serengeti, one of the seven natural wonders of Africa, where lions roam and the greatest migration ever of animals takes place , the wildebeest migration. This will be your home for the next two days right in the African bush. Depending on the time of the year, your camp will be located in different locations as it follows the migration, Between December and March, Olakira moves south to Ndutu where you will enjoy superlative game viewing and witness the Migration’s birthing season (from about February). June and November, you will be camping in the northern Serengeti’s Bolongoja region, a mere 300 meters (980 feet) from a Migration crossing point at the Mara River. Outside the migration period, Serengeti offers abundant resident wildlife like buffalo, elephant, giraffe and all the big cats – make it is an excellent year-round game viewing destination. After days in the African wild return to the charm of your camp, out of Africa romantic experience, sit by the fire as you exchange stories of the day’s hunt, while the chef prepares the most delicious meals from the freshest ingredients from local farms.

Breakfast and transfer back to the airstrip take your flight to the tropical beach paradise of Zanzibar. On arrival at the Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transfer to north eastern coast for Zanzibar for your stay at the outstanding Matemwe Lodge.

Check into your room set in the green tropical gardens with views running to the shores of the white sand and clear aquamarine waters. Relax on your veranda, equipped with a hammock and couch, the perfect hideout for the rest of the days as you enjoy the views of the sea.

After days enjoying the African wild, pamper yourself as you relax with de stressing treatments and massages, or you might just want to set on your verandah take the views of the sea as you sip on cocktails from the lodges bar.

At Matemwe you will not be short of activities, you can hop in one of the hotels courtesy kayaks and explore the waters around the lodge area, or head to Mnemba Atoll, famous for its reef and underwater world for snorkeling or diving.

Head out to the islands interior for an excursion to Stine Town, walk the historical, narrow and cobbled streets, buzzing with markets and smells of local flavors.

Feast of Matemwe’s delicious meals prepared from fresh ingredients. Lunch is usually buffet style blend of European and local dishes, dinners include fish, meat and vegetarian option, seafood is the freshest and the best in this island. Later enjoy the most gorgeous sunsets sipping cocktails as you look into the distant ocean.

Breakfast and transfer to the to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport, to take your flight to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam for your onward safari arrangements.
