Itinerary

Day 1: Welcome to Tanzania | 1 Night

Welcome to Tanzania on arrival at the Julius Nyerere International Airport, in Dar Es Salaam met by your safari guide and transfer to the Southern Sun Hotel.

Dar Es Salaam is Tanzania capital city, located right on the shores of the Indian Ocean and home to wonderful restaurants and beaches just off the city limits, take time to visit the famed Dar Es Salaam botanical gardens and sample the different eateries of the city.

Days 2 - 4: Safari at Ruaha National Park | 3 Nights

Breakfast and transfer to the international airport to take your flight to Ruaha’s Msembe Airstrip, on arrival you will be met by your safari guide and transfer to Kigelia Camp, in time for a delicious lunch, later in afternoon start your African adventure with a game drive in the Ruaha National Park. One of the unknown parks Ruaha is home to lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo, and rich with diverse ecosystem and iconic trees such as the sausage tree (Kigelia Africana) and the roots in the air baobab tree, during season the tress burst into flower adding to the already precious landscape. The camp is cozy and relaxed, well located to provide incredible safari experiences, with just six tented suites. It is small and intimate and the service extremely personalized, from here spend the next 3 nights discovering the little visited park and disconnect from the outside world as you immerse yourself in the African bush.

Days 5 - 9: See the beautiful Selous | 4 Nights

Selous National Park is Tanzania well kept secret and the largest wildlife park in the world, from Ruaha, arrive at Selous Kiba Airstrip, on arrival met by your safari guide and transfer to the Sand River Selous, your home for the next 4 nights as you explore this vast wilderness

Large elephants, lions wild dogs and a multitude of plain game roam the diverse landscape of Selous, from flooded plains, to open grasslands and miombo woods lands you will not miss places to explores and surprises waiting for you.

Enjoy game drives with your expert guides, nature walks into the bush and boat trips, at Sand River Selous, when reaching the river you can disembark from your vehicle and approach a herd of elephants unnoticed or head out to the next bend as your guide points out the different flora and fauna, enjoy picnic lunches at scenic points of the river, and if you love birds you will not be disappointed the area is rich in birdlife.

Later return to your open sided suite built high on the Rufiji River to relax and marvel at the incredible Selous Wilderness. During your stay you can decide to head for a night or two of rustic camping experience, it will be just you and your guide with the dinner cooked on the camp fire and your tent under the African sky.

When finally, it’s time to say goodbye, breakfast and transfer to Kiba Airstrip to take your flight back to Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar Es Salaam.
