Itinerary
Day 1: A warm welcome to Tanzania | 1 Night
Welcome to Kilimanjaro International Airport on arrival met by your guide and transfer to Arusha Coffee Lodge, a chic lodge with scenic views of the towering Mount Meru, settle in among the lush gardens and coffee trees as you get ready to start your African adventure.
While at the lodge, time permitting you can take time to visit the local markets or nearby Arusha with interesting options of excursions and things to see, or you can relax by the hotel poolside taking a chilled drink or a cup of the freshest coffee enjoying the sights and sound of Africa.
Days 2 - 3: The magic of Lake Manyara | 2 Nights
Breakfast and transfer to Arusha Airport to take your shared charter flight to Lake Manyara, on arrival at Lake Manyara met by your safari guide and embark on a short game drive as you head to your home for the next two nights – the Lake Manyara Tree Lodge hidden in an edge within the park in the midst of mahogany trees.
Lake Manyara Lodge boast of 10 chic tree house suites round an elegant central lounge that serves as the dinning and bar area, the ambience is exclusive, relaxed and intimate – it’s the only lodge located within the park, get into your thatched chalet and enjoy the views of the African wilderness.
Lake Manyara, a soda lake, located in the center of the park, is rich with a variety of habitats that are home to a wide variety of wildlife, the lake is part of Africa’s great rift valley, enjoy exciting game drives watching then cloud of pink formed by flamingos and see other water birds.
For bird lovers, this will be a paradise, the pockets of forest dot the open savannah where large herds of elephants mingle with the giraffes, buffalo and a wide variety of antelope species. The predators are not far off, lurking in tall grasses as they prowl for a hunt The lions of Lake Manyara are famous for their habit of climbing trees.
Days 4 - 5: Magnificent Ngorongoro | 2 Nights
We head on south to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, home to the Ngorongoro Crater the world’s largest intact caldera, within which its steep sided walls live the largest concentration of mammals in any one place, in the caldera, one can find diverse habitats, from open plains to permanent wetlands.
Big game species such as black rhinos, black maned lions and great tasked elephants thrive within the caldera protected from the outside world.
Arrive at the Ngorongoro Crater Lodge to breathtaking views of the crater from its location perched high up on the crater rim, to what must surely be the most spectacular views in Africa, this is surely another world contained within the mist of the African sky. Settle into your suite as you take in the wonderful views from your balcony, later join your guide for evening tea as he shares with you the intimate details of the Ngorongoro and an opportunity to discuss your upcoming safari to the crater floor.
The crater is about the only place in the world where one can see the famous big 5 in a single game drive, the breathtaking scenery and the huge concentration of animals seen nowhere else only add to the magic of this wonder of the world.
Explore the crater floor marveling at the wetlands home to hippos and families of flamingos, rummage through the forest and marches where herds of elephant feed in the quite o the day while as you make your way to the open plains, gazelles, wildebeest and zebras add to the color of the green earth, a paradise to behold, not to far the cats, caracal, serval cats, spotted hyenas and the king of them all the lion scan the plains for opportunities to hunt.
After full day of exploring the crater and picnic lunches in the open plains, return back to camp to a delicious meal and later cocktails by the fireside as you exchange notes of the day sightings and look forward to your next destination – the Serengeti.
Days 6 - 8: Spectacular Serengeti | 3 Nights
Breakfast and transfer to the airstrip to take the one-hour flight to the Serengeti, from the air watch as the hills of the Ngorongoro open up the endless plains. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, the greatest wildlife spectacle of all, when more than a million wildebeest accompanied by impalas, zebras and gazelles, move in great herds towards the Mara in search of fresh pasture and the soft grass shoots that for their favorite meal immediately after the rainy season.
The rush is driven by instincts; the herds face the greatest challenges as the predators are not far off in the open plains while crocodile infested rivers cut the paths to get to the fresh grass.
