9 Day Migration, Crater and Tarangire Safari
You begin with Tarangire National Park, home to the country’s largest elephant population and beautifully wild scenery. Your accommodation here, Swala Camp, has a low carbon footprint and is totally secluded to offer sensational elephant watching.
You may also see elephants at your next destination: the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Enjoying panoramic views from the vantage of Ngorongoro Crater Camp, you also sit back on game drives to nearby Lake Manyara National Park, searching for the park’s tree-climbing lions. There is also time for a full-day safari to the Ngorongoro Crater, an ancient volcanic caldera whose steep-sided walls contain Africa’s densest concentration of large animals, including the Big 5. This camp allows you to visit two big hitters in one go.

Itinerary
Day 1: Coffee-tasting in Arusha | 1 Night
Welcome to Tanzania and transfer to the Arusha Coffee Lodge, located just five minutes from the Arusha International Airport and in a working coffee farm, the lodge is a perfect base just before beginning your safaris and has the ambience and facilities you need to relax, looking forward to your great African adventure.
Take the coffee tasting tour of the farm and learn about then coffee making process and enjoy the best tasting coffee on the farm, later idle the day away as you take the lovely views of mount Meru, you can also treat yourself to a massage in the in house spa, later retire to your spacious cottage with fireplace and wonderful views of the lush green of the estate.
Enjoy meals at the Redd’s African Grills House, made from the freshest ingredients drawn from local farms, later sip drinks at the Safari bar as you share the days stories and ready to begin your safari.
Days 2 - 3: Tarangire – Land of Giants | 2 Nights
Breakfast and transfer to Arusha Airport to take you flight to Swala’s Camp, located on a hidden corner of the Tarangire National Park. The camp is located in an area with large herds of elephant and the local water hole, within view from the camp ensures good game viewing as animals come to the water hole to replenish.
The wilds of the Tarangire is dotted with towering baobab trees and has the greatest concentration of animals outside the Serengeti ecosystem, the park is renowned for its large elephants herds, but is also home to the big cats, away from the Tarangire Rivers that cuts through the park on the arid plains one can see animals such as fringe-eared oryx and the long-necked gerenuk
While at the camp, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, walking safaris in the company of rangers and knowledgeable guides, and as it gets dark, night game drives before retiring to your spacious tent, overlooking the waterholes, complete with a personal butler.
Days 4 - 5: Lake and Crater Safari | 2 Nights
From Manyara we continue to the Ngorongoro Crater Camp, your home for the next 3 nights, with plenty of time for game drives to explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arrive at the airstrip, met by your safari guide and transfer to the Camp.
Take a full day safari to the Ngorongoro Crater floor the world largest caldera and the only place in Africa where you can have the luck to see all of the big 5 (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant) in a single game drive.
Days 6 - 8: To the Serengeti plains | 3 Nights
Breakfast and fly to the Serengeti, on arrival met by your tour guide and transfer to your home for the next 3 nights, Kichakani Serengeti Camp, the camp is a mobile camp and moves between 3 locations of the Serengeti following the migration and ensuring you have a front seat experience of the wildebeest migration
There is always a surprise depending on the time of the year when you visit the Serengeti, there is never a dull moment, it could be during the months of the dramatic move as the animals in herds made up of millions make their way, crossing crocodile infested river in search of fresh grazing grass, of it could be within the birthing season, when thousands of wildebeest have their young’s almost at the same time.
At other times, there is more to wonder, explore the plains filled with antelopes and giraffes, watch the baboons, the only primate adapted to wonder the plains, walk by in huge families, marvel at the herds of buffaloes and elephants, not forgetting the big cats, lions, cheetah and leopard that are usually not very far off, waiting for the opportunity of a hunt. Later return to the camp, and relax at the common tent overlooking the Serengeti plains or retire to the privacy of your tent complete with en-suite bathroom.
Day 9: The Journey Ends
Breakfast at the camp and later transfer to the airstrip to take your flight back to Arusha Airport. on arrival transfer to your hotel or to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward safari destination, to Zanzibar, a perfect add on to your safari or to other tropical beach islands of the Indian Ocean.
