Itinerary

Arrivals in Nairobi and transfer to depart Nairobi by air from Nairobi’s Wilson airport for the short flight to the Masai Mara, arrive at Naboisho airstrip in Mara North Conservancy, on arrival met by your guide and transfer to Olare Orok Mobile Camp set on a bend of the Mara River teeming with hippos.

Lunch and take a short rest, as embark on your first horse ride, you can also opt to go on an evening game drive amongst the herds of wildebeest, zebras in search of the elephants, buffalos and lion, later before the sunsets return back to camp enjoying the colorful sunset in the distance.

Wake up call before sunrise as we set off got our first safari on horseback, we will ride along the Mara River to the curious gazes of wildebeest, hippos and crocodiles to a renowned wildebeest crossing point, cross the Mara River (water permitting and if not flooded) and return to the camp for a light breakfast. After breakfast head out for a traditional game drive in the Mara North Conservancy, lunch will be at the camp, and as the heat of the day is high take a quick nap before heading out again for a sundowner and short night game drive.

Today we take a leisurely breakfast and at 09h00 set off towards the wildebeest crossing point, we will ride along the top of the escarpment enjoying the breathtaking views of the scenic Maasai Mara landscape. You will see lots of plain animals including zebra, wildebeest, impalas and topis, and also a a variety of birds. We will continue with our ride along the foot of the Mara Triangle where your guide will be waiting with a lavishly set out picnic lunch, after lunch we will ride up the escarpment towards our camp at Soi Ololol, on arrival freshen up and enjoy a pleasant dinner, followed by drinks beside the campfire as we share stories of the day’s surprises.

Today we ride down the escarpment and ride through yhe wildebeest to our crossing point and take the route west towards the Olare Orok Valley, on the way we shall enjoy a picnic lunch beside a quite stream.

Later arrive at our camp on Olare Orok just in time for afternoon tea and later a game drive. The sleeping tents at Olare Orok are comfortable with torches, gas lanterns and hurricane lamps, each tent has safari hot bucket showers. Spend the next two nights in this wonderful camp exploring the game rich Olare Orok area.

Today we shall take morning and afternoon horse ride and awe at the wonderful scenery and abundant game that this area has to offer, find the best photographic opportunities as we spot big game like buffalos and if we are lucky we may spot one of the big cats – lion , leopard or cheetah.

At sunrise wed break the camp and head for our morning ride, today we shall ride a distance of 50km , Galloping in the midst of wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and gazelle , stopping for a picnic breakfast and lunch at scenic spots along the route.

Later in the evening we shall arrive at Olare Lamun (meaning the rhino salt lick), our camp set up on the edge of the Loita Plains within a grove of gorgeous acacia trees, this will be our safari home for the next 3 nights.

We set out to explore the area in horseback or with short guided walks as we look out for sightings of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, hyena, zebra, giraffe, and of course, the astonishing number of wildebeest that arrive from about July to November. The Loita area is always full of game.
