8 Day Family Kenya Safari (9-12 year old)
A fly-in safari that begins and ends in big game country, this 8 day tour has been designed for families with older children aged about nine to 12. Each of the three lodges on the itinerary welcomes older children and there are dedicated adventure clubs waiting for them that offer child-oriented safari activities with local guides and naturalists. There are walks, sports and adventures to local villages as well as swimming pools and Wi-Fi access – something for every child. And since the lodges also have spa treatment suites and masseuses, there is something for parents and gown-ups, too.

Itinerary
Day 1: A Nairobi Safari | 1 Night
Welcome to Nairobi, on arrival you will be met by your guide and transfer to the Ololo Lodge, the lodge is the right place to begin your African adventure, its located right on the edge of the Nairobi national park and with wonderful views of the plains and wildlife in the park.
Later in the afternoon depart for a game drive in the Nairobi National park. look out for are buffalo, giraffe and zebra in the park as well as rhino and lion, and an amazing wealth of birdlife. later return back to Ololo Lodge to your 3 bedroom suite for dinner and overnight.
Days 2 - 4: A Northern Adventure | 3 Nights
Breakfast and transfer to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to take your flight to the Samburu National Reserve, transfer to Samburu Intrepids located in the northern frontier district. away from much of civilization Samburu offers a totally different wildlife experience from the familiar wildlife destination such as Mara and Serengeti.
Samburu is home to the Samburu 5, wildlife that you will only find here, they are the gerenuk, the long necked antelope, beisa oryx, one of the most colorfully dressed antelopes with strait horns, Somali Ostrich, grevy zebra and the reticulated giraffes, Samburu is also home to big cats, lions and leopards, enjoy game drives and safari walks, and also learn more about the Samburu culture.
The lodge has a swimming pool, a wellness therapist and organizes natural history talks each night. The kids can also partake in a myriad of activities offered by the kid’s club.
Days 5 - 7: To the Maasai Mara | 3 Nights
From the arid north, take a flight to the endless plains of the Masai Mara, you will spend the next 3 nights at the Mara Intrepids Camp, located less than 3 minutes from the airstrip and also right in the middle of the Mara reserve, in a game rich area and close to the Mara River.
During the migration period more than a million wildebeest, including zebras and impalas fill up the empty Mara plains, it’s a spectacle to behold, you and your family will be treated to an out of Africa wildlife experience – in this all round year game viewing location. especially if you are looking for the big cats. like the lion.
The camp is fenced and you can walk around its paths and green lawns enjoying the natural surroundings of just to seek out the singing birds, children can take activities in the adventure club and learn one or two bush skills, you can also visit the local Maasai village for song and dance and to buy treasured souvenirs from the local Maasai women.
The adventure club offers education experience, including wildlife talks and slide shows each night. later retire to your 3 bedroom tented suite with views of the Talek River for a well-deserved rest.
Day 8: The Journey Ends
Breakfast and later transfer to the airstrip to take your flight back to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, on arrival met and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your departure flight.
