Itinerary
Day 1: Jet into Nairobi | 1 Night
Welcome to Nairobi, on arrival and after completing the customs formalities met by a guide and transfer to the upscale and historical suburb of Karen where you will stay at the luxurious Hemingways Hotel. Your personal butler will be at hand to receive you and assist with your bookings for the spa and wellness center or for the hotel restaurant run by a Michelin starred chef.
Time permitting take the time to visit some of the world renowned local attractions just a stone throw away from your hotel such as the Karen Blixen Museum, the giraffe center of the Daphne Sheldricks Elephant Orphanage. Nairobi National Park is actually the shortest distance from JKIA as it sits next to the city of Nairobi. The park has all the animals you can see in any park in Kenya except elephants. Feel free to take photos of wildlife in their natural habitat against the background of the skyscrapers of Nairobi city.

Days 2 - 4: Wing your way to Amboseli | 2 Nights
On arrival from Nairobi, you will be met by your guide and later drive with a game drive en-route to Tortilis Camp, the camp has wonderful views of Mount Kilimanjaro and is solar powered to reduce its ecological impact. Later in the afternoon enjoy a game drive in the conservancy. Retire to the camp for an overnight stay with your welcoming dinner.
The next morning take a picnic breakfast and head for a morning game drive in the Amboseli National Park. Return to the camp for a late lunch and later in the afternoon enjoy a walking safari in the company of your Maasai warrior guides. This nature walks finishes with a sundowner at a scenic spot and as the sun sets watch the shadows of animals in the distance as you exchange safari stories under the coming African night.
Days 4 - 6: Touch down in Meru | 2 Nights
Check out from your camp with an early morning breakfast and take the morning flight to Meru National park via Nairobi to Elsas Kopje, named after the lioness Elsa made famous in the book born free by Joy Adamson. The camp is near the Meru National Park. You will arrive in time for lunch.
Elsas Kopje is uniquely designed to blend with the natural environment, and also into the rocky outcrop where its located on the sides of Mugwango Hill. It was on this rock that Elsa’s the lioness was raised. After lunch you can take the time to enjoy the hotel facilities of go on a game drive.
The next day take a picnic breakfast and head into the wilderness of Meru in search of the big five, and a visit to the rhino sanctuary. Return later on to the lodge for a late lunch, while in the afternoon, as the heat of the sun is strong; take a rest in the camp. Proceed to an evening game drive as the sun settles down, ending with a sundowner at a scenic spot.
Days 6 - 7: Landing in the Maasai Mara | 2 Nights
After breakfast head to the local airstrip and take your flight to the world famous Masai Mara renowned for its endless plains, abundance of wildlife and most particularly for the annual wildebeest migration.
On arrival at Keekorok airstrip in the Mara, you will be met by your guide and with a short game drive en-route transferred to your Sand River Maasai Mara camp inspired by the by gone era of golden safaris. The camp is located in a scenic and secluded zone of the Mara with a riverside setting. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
The following day, take an early morning breakfast at the camp and set off with picnic lunches for a full day game drive in the Maasai Mara national reserve. Head towards the Mara river as you go out in search of lions, elephants, birds or whatever else you and your guide agree to try and find. At mid-day, we will look for a shade at a scenic spot and set out our picnic lunch right in the middle of the African savannah surrounded by wildlife. Continue to explore the Maasai Mara after lunch and later visit a Maasai village before heading back to the camp. You can freshen up and taste a sundowner. Dinner and overstay at the camp.
Day 8: Back to Nairobi
