The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a dense jungle and home to half of the world’s remaining population of mountain gorillas, as well as being home to other 11 mammal species including giant hogs and forest elephants, the forest forms part of the diverse eco system of the Bwindi National Park.
The Bwindi Forest has a 90% success for sighting the mountain gorillas, the treks can take a few hours or sometimes even the whole day. Bwindi is the best place in Uganda to go gorilla trekking. Once you come to the gorilla’s family, that are accustomed to human presence, you will spend about an hour observing them from a safe distance, watch closely as their almost human gestures and interactions remind you of the human species and its evolution, after you will trek back to the lodge, taking with you the memories of this life changing encounter.

Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Uganda | 3 Nights
Welcome to Uganda, on arrival at the Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and assisted by our team to connect to your domestic flight to Kahihi airstrip. On arrival at Kahihi airstrip met by your safari guide, and transfer to Volcanoes Bwindi Lodge. Your safari guide will be with you throughout the safari to share their expert knowledge of the mountain gorillas, local wildlife, culture and conservation history. Take the two hours transfer through green farm lands, terraced hills to the edge of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where your accommodation is located, check in and explore the grounds and nearby mountain streams, or take a stroll to a nearby village before dinner as you look forward to the next day – as you begin your gorilla trek.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
Early wakeup calls and take a light breakfast as you set out in search of the mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Forest, the trek requires one to be fit as you tackle the dense vegetation, muddy and humid conditions of the mountain pathways to get to the gorillas, locating a family of gorillas usually depends on the movement of the gorillas in the previous night and can take from a few hours to a whole day. Your ranger, professional trackers and guides will be able to assist you expertly as you tackle the mud and wet conditions, and steep slopes and cut through the thick vegetation to create a way. Upon finding a family you will spend about as hour as you observe them groom, play and forage in their natural habitat.
Day 3: Learn About Local Life
Today you can take a guided walk through the forest with your expert guide as you learn more about the forest and look out for plant life, endemic bird species and butterflies , alternatives if permits are available you can take an additional option trek in search of the mountain gorillas. Visit the location villages, surrounding farmlands and tea plantations as you learn about the local’s way of life. The Bwindi area is home to the Batwa people, an indigenous tribe with a hunter gatherer tradition. The community still maintains its traditional way of living.
