The safari takes you to an overnight stay in Arusha in Northern Tanzania before proceeding for 2 nights in little known Tarangire for your bush walks and 4×4 game drives viewing the elephant, buffalo, lion, hyena and other wildlife.

Proceed for 2 nights in Ngorongoro for your Big 5 game viewing experience and then a stunning 3 nights experience in the rewarding Serengeti where you have a view of the all year round game viewing and on season Wildebeest Migration.

Journey culminates into 4 night on the East Coast of Zanzibar and a night in Zanzibar Stone Town for your stunning walk before waving farewell to East Africa.

Itinerary

Welcome to Tanzania, arrive at Tanzania Kilimanjaro Airport and as you jet in of the day is clear you will be able to catch distant views of the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro, after completing the customs requirements met by your guide and transfer to Arusha coffee lodge, where you will be welcomed by the smell of freshly roasted coffee as you check into your plantation room set in the lush gardens.

Arusha coffee Lodge provides the ideal start to your African adventure as you rest from your long haul flight, in Arusha the gateway to Tanzania northern circuit, get ready for days of early wake up and interesting safaris.

Breakfast and transfer to Arusha Airport just a short drive away to head into the African wilderness with a flight to Kuro Airstrip in Tarangire National Park, on arrival you will be met by your safari guide and transfer to Olivers Camp- as we head to the camp look out for big herds of elephants and buffalo – including over 550 species of different birds.

For the next two nights the intimate and exclusive Olivers Camp will be your home as you explore the wilds of Tarangire, enjoy bush walks and 4×4 game drives, later return to the camp for open air shower and refreshing drinks as you enjoy the most delicious meals, later drift off to sleep listening to the distant howls of lions and laughing hyenas.

Breakfast and say goodbye to the friendly staff at Oliver’s Camp, as you head to Gibbs Farm, set in a traditional coffee plantation just close to the Ngorongoro Crater, check into your spacious cottage, in this country styled homestead. Later take a walk in the traditional English gardens or enjoy a relaxing treatment at the African living spa – or the optional guided walk to the Ngorongoro Crater rim.

Formed millions of years ago the Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera, within which live thousands of plain game, that feed on the grasses growing on the mineral rich floor. It’s the only place in the world where one can see all the big 5 in a single game drive – the photography opportunities are the best of any park.

Later take an optional guided game drive to the nearby Lake Manyara, home to millions of flamingos that give it a characteristic pink color from the distance.

Breakfast and transfer to Manyara Airstrip to take your flight to Serengetis Kogatende airstrip, as the plane takes off the lush green hilly Ngorongoro opens up to endless plains of the Serengeti, the world’s most famous wildlife safari destination. It’s here that the largest migration of animals takes place, where more than a million wildebeest move across its plain in search of green grass. Arrive at Kimondo Migration Camp, your home for the next 3 days. The camp is mobile tented camo and changes location twice a year to be as close to the migration as possible.

Depending on the time of your visit, spend the time in Serengeti surrounded by large herds of plain game or watch the migration as it makes its way from the plains of the Serengeti to Masai Mara in Kenya.

Breakfast and after days of lions, elephants, buffalos and wildebeest, it’s time to take the short transfer to Seronera Airstrip to take your flight to the tropical island of Zanzibar, which lies on the blue warm waters of the Indian Ocean.

It’s time to relax, take a break from the early game drives and days out in the bush. Indulge yourself with late mornings, lazy lunches and sunset cocktails, take a dip in the pool or beach just a walking distance away, head out Mnemba Atoll, an idyllic spot for diving and snorkeling. As you enjoy the next 4 nights at Matemwe Lodge.

Breakfast and transfer to Stone Towns Jafferji House & Spa, for your last night in Africa. Jafferji House blends both into the old and new, in a secluded cool and calm haven amidst the cobbled streets and imposing studded doors of the old town of Zanzibar. Look forward to a delicious supper and blissful supper with views of loney traditional dhows in the sea from the hotel.

Breakfast and later transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport to take your departure flight, as the plane takes off, take one last look at the wonderful island and its spices aromas.
